Dermal Fillers
Often, the medical profession come up with unfortunate names for many simple treatments and this is no exception! In layman's terms, healthy skin contains natural chemicals that keep it looking supple and youthful. Amongst them is hyaluronic acid. It is a natural sugar found in all living cells that helps maintain skin volume and plumpness by binding over 1000 times its weight in water. However, over time with exposure to sunlight, lifestyle choices and just general ageing, the hyaluronic acid in your skin decreases. This causes your skin to lose volume and lines, wrinkles and creases start to appear.
Now you can effectively replace your skin's lost hyaluronic acid using a dermal filler made from a highly purified form of hyaluronic acid that mimics the effects of natural hyaluronic acid. When injected just below the surface of the skin, the filler adds volume to the skin, smoothing lines, creases and wrinkles creating natural-looking results
The treatment is only temporary, lasting up to 6 to 9 months depending on the patient. A regular treatment programme can be recommended to you after a consultation with our practitioner.

Where are Dermal Fillers used?
The most common areas treated are the smile lines around your nose and mouth, marionette lines at the corners of your mouth and fine lines above the mouth as well as being able to promote fuller lips. This should not be confused with the incorrect use of collagen that has been berated in the press.
